    Posting photos

www.tinypic.com is a very useful site for displaying photos on forums.

You upload your photo onto their server and use the html code produced to display the image in a post. Couldn't be more simple.

You can resize your photo with the website also but its better to do this yourself to reduce upload time.

I believe also that as the photo is stored elsewhere it reduces the load on the local server.

Some forums require you to do this now.

    Just a thought.

How about a quote from the rules to back this up? I can't find one.

(Nice that there's no quote button on the rules posts.)

Sweet as. So maybe I should add that the pictures should be no larger than 100kb. Which is possible using the tinypic website. It is still useful then as pictures are not stored on the KB server.

Dunno what's so special about tinypic. There's a bazillion image hosting sites out there. Most provide clickable embed or link code for you, most resize photos for you, some provide thumbnails if you are in to that sort of thing.

    Photobucket
    smugmug
    flickr
    windowslive

    etc etc etc.

I thought this had been covered before in one of the other stickies about images?
    Cheers,
    Colin

    Your right.

Motorcycles have turn signals too but not everyone knows how to use them.

Just something I found useful in future I won't bother sharing.

Sorry, I apologise. I was thinking of other forums that aren't so enamoured with attachments. The other similar sticky describes using the KB gallery.

Issues adding any pictures to profile

Have tried many different times in differant sizes and formats. I am aware of the picture size requirements but still cannot add a personal Profile Avatar or Profile Picture to my profile. I tried uploading the images and adding linked images from Photobucket but was told "unable to save image". Is there a permissions issue? I'm new to KB, but it took all of 5 min to add the same images to my Southern Rider profile (southern rider.co.nz)
