I've spent my money on bikes, booze and babes. The rest I've wasted....

Too busy and poor. Working two jobs but only getting paid for one and can barely afford food let alone gas!

January is looking a bit better

I'm off on Weds/Thursday. I have to take a run to Tauranga on one of those days. If the tag is still there, I'll swing by and pick it up.

Well. I DID wake up early. And I DID start out on the trip. But then it got wet and manky and I was feeling about as awake as a rock, so I turned around and came back home. Just wasn't on top of it at all.

Sometimes you just have to pull the plug on a plan...

Wont be getting the tag today, wife has called from her work, she's taking the day off and wants to come on the ride to Tga with me. Her first time in ages, on the bike, so I had better take the direct route.

    Ah well, shit happens.

met a mate at the pine man on our bikes the other week to grab this tag, as i rolled up the the MAN, my bike shat itself, (suspected blowen head gasket), should have taken the pic anyways, but instead pushed it down to BP and waited for the rescue team, only pic i got was of the bike as we craned it onto the back of my mates truck. will post pic when i find...that would have been a hard tag to replicate, lol.

Old Tag: Main street of Tokoroa (and now in a festive mood)

New Tag: On the way home, down a damn fine alternative to Old Taupo. From Arapuni Dam turn onto Darby, then Lake Arapuni Road. This becomes Wiltsdown (which crosses Old Taupo), then hang a right onto Paraonui, it takes you right into Tokoroa. Good fun; the usual loose metal here and there and a bit of fresh-ish seal, but you're big girls now.

And now I need new tyres. Sigh.

Yup. Paraonui, Wiltsdown etc are all good. Used to live on Paraonui a few moons ago. At one stage they were part on the NZ rally champs.

A nice boxinhg day ride has yielded up the old tag and produced a new one...here ya go.

OLD TAG: Sign pointing at Heteri Hill, along Wiltsdown Rd (or was it Lake Aapuni Road?). Somewhere along there anyway.

NEW TAG: Much closer to home but a little tricky unless you have walked a certain Hamilton City walking track. Access is via a no exit road on the Western boundary of the city. The name of the road has a connection to a Footrot Flats character...You have to ignore the "No Vehicles!" sign to get to the actual site. Nobody came roaring out with their shotgun when I went in and got the pic so you oughta be OK...probably..maybe...

Map of where I went today. I've omitted the end bit when I got the new tag...
