This has to be one of the best tags I have chased - especially on a day like today - fine, cool, still - on roads seldom frequented by Mr Plod. Course, that doesn't really count since I never breaks the rules eh...
OLD TAG: As it says, Jim Barnett Reserve. It's on Waotu South Road, a little south of Arapuni. Accessed from Lake Arapuni Rd which is an excellent ride in itself. A wood pigeon came and had a peep at me just after I arrived. Yum.
NEW TAG: It's a bit out in the sticks, this one...coughcough. Between Kihikihi and Putaruru, on a road named after the oldest dam on the Waikato River. Which just happens to be one of the finest sweepy roads in the district. Best ridden to from the Kihikihi end. To truly appreciate the road you really need to go at 140ish. So of course, that counts all of us lot out dunnit? But nice anyway even if you do obey all the rules (like me).

You rotten bastard !!! I've just walked in the door from a ride over to get the tag, Plus I stopped outside the stixs to switch off the GoPro on the return ride
Ah well, still a great ride and I had to go to Putaruru anyway and got a lot of nice photos. I was going to text you this morning to see if you were likely to go for the tag. My ph has dropped a lot of contacts, your being one of them.

All the planets aligned for me today.
- I knew what road SLOfox was talking about ,
- I was in hamilton on a sunny day,
- Phoned an old work mate who was keen for a ride
- Tag was easy to spot at the "Recommended speed"

NEW TAG HINT
Built to house a bike race track.
That none of us will ever be allowed to use.
Good judgment comes from experience. Unfortunately, the experience usually comes from bad judgment.
I do happen to own a bike that could use that track, but somehow I don't think I'll be bringing up on my next trip to the Waikato.
Time to ride
If that CBR had USDs it would be perfect
Old tag.
The place was chocker so the pic isn't identical. I've seen enough licra to last a life time.
New Tag.
One of the nicest rides around Cambridge. Equally good for a cruise or if you feel like feeding it some pudding. No clues, get out for a ride.
There's a sign like that between the Dams, when you go the wiggly way ?
Looks exactly like that. In the wiggliest bit of all. Couple of other bikes out enjoying themselves as well. Of course all were obeying the 100km limit.
I have no idea where this one is...
