'Twas an interesting ride down to Tirau this morning...went down west bank of Waikato intending to cross at Karapiro...and the bloody dam (not damn) road was CLOSED wannit?

Was on quite a tight time schedule and the gas tank was low...Errmmmm dither dither..mmmmwhat'llI do? Go back across at Cambridge? Errmmmm ahh fuckit, just carry on, go over bridge on Maungatautari Rd. Which I did.
Got to Tirau, took pic, gas light already blinking at me. Headed back up SH1 to Cambridge instead of out east from Tirau which was what I wanted to do, bein' as 'ow I was a little late and gas was getting lower...not quite to Cambridge and the gas light goes solid (2l left - about 40km).

Cut west through Kaipaki Rd to home...had time to pootle up to the Gull station and refill beastie. Took 15.67 litres so still had over a litre left in there. That 15.67 litres had taken me 345km...not a bad range.
In case you're wondering, I like to use Force 10 in it so limited to Gull stations if I have the choice. That's about as far as I have pushed it before refilling. Somehow those little blinking warning lights get under my skin...

, I headed out 5:15 there abouts in peak traffic on cold tyres via my favourate round about, I was not going to hoof it!! hehe

Then on the way back it started pissing down!
