Anyone know who I approach to get gigs at the big rallies?

    Hi Guys,
Does anyone know who I would approach to see about my band performing at one of the bigger rallies???

Would love to bring the hard rock sounds and pvc gear to the rallies - I go to them anyway - just wondered who is responsible for the hiring?? any ideas??

eg the march hare or brass monkey - only south island rallies at the mo ...

had a great time at the KB rally - living in picton now so will have to keep an eye out for the next one - still have that photo of shrek all dressed up lol
    thanks in advance

So that's you in your avatar, and you dress up in PVC and play loud rock music?

It's me you need to see then, come alone and bring your PVC.

Alternatively, you could contact the rally organisers I suppose. I'm sure people here will be able to supply you with names etc.

Contact the club who does the rally - ie. for the cold kiwi, contact Graeme at ruapheu (sp?) motorcycle club info@coldkiwi.co.nz

Try a PM to vulcanmad, he's one of the organisers of the March Hare.

You've also got the Nelson rally just around the corner from you in early November. Their contact details for last year were Nelson Road Touring Club, PO Box 1488, Nelson 7040.

    Good Luck.

Good luck, whilst theres the odd good rally bands down here theres some absolute crap as well, seems many of them havent woken up to the fact that bike rallys attract a fairly diverse group of people as do bikesand many have long since grown tired of endless crap reneditions of smoke on the water no matter how old we get.

i know what you mean, I perform everything from 70s rock to later stuff a really wide range , i had a gig recently where the average age was 45 to 55 and i did the last two sets of newer upbeat numbers and a few couples actually came up and said it was refreshing to not hear ' all old crusty stuff' i saying that though , two of my all time favs to perform are 'i love rock and roll ' and 'roadhouse blues'
i just try to give a good show with some humour thrown in and just try to get everyone rockin and having a good time - although , guess thats gonna mean I cant go in the wet t like i usually do lmol

Wish you all the best mate, from one whos been to many many rallys over the years it will be nice to see hear some new stuff,i am a huge fan old old rock/heavy but theres only so many times the same ole shit will do and is remotely entertaining, seems theres a hardcore 20-30 songs they play and thats it,fuck me theres thousands of songs to choose from.
