    Cleaning the Boots

In a rare fit of enthusiasm, I actually cleaned the boots on Wednesday night. Got the old snoseal out and had a go at them while the room was all toasty from the fire. Left them to soak 24 hours and then buffed em up last night when the room was again toasty. Came up pretty well really...maybe I oughta get offn my arse more often...
Definitely works better when the room is real hot I would hafta say...

Yeah, I did mine the other day, when I Nikwaxed the jacket'n'gloves.
Although I would have to say, you couldn't call it cleaning, as I left the road spooge and brake dust on (strangely, only the right boot had that on), and applied SnoSeal over the top, sealing it in. (If there was sno on the boots, I guess that would've been more betterer to seal in...)
I did my boots outside (because they were grubby), so it was coldish. I remdeied remdiedide fixed that by using the hot air gun to melt the SnoSeal into the leather after I'd given them a good coating, then buffed them up.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Tch tch....I would never do that.... I rubbed mine with a rag first. At least it took the surface coating of road spooge off...

Generally not a good idea to heat up boots like that, it affects the glue holding the soles on. Well it does on tramping boots anyway, I have seen a fair few pairs of boots that have fallen apart after people try to dry them too close to the fire...

Unlike a fire, a hot air gun has a thermostat, so you can control how much heat you apply. Cunning, huh? So I kept the heat to just enough to melt the Bee Zwacks, which is actually 5% of NotVeryMuchAtAll.
Do you really think I'd deliberately sabotage a $450 pair of boots?

Somehow I misread the title of this thread to "Cleaning the boobs". I'm very dissapointed.

Boobs that need cleaning are best avoided.

Bike boots that need cleaning always get a severe brush off to remove all of the crap.

Buff up really nicely once they are completely dry.

I'd have to agree with that. But maintaining their cleanliness can be fun...
