Why don't girly dramas have a cry track?
Canned laughter (or, laugh-o-meter) was widely used years ago, and probably still is.
I guess they think it adds character to the show having a pre recorded laughing audience at the push of a button without having a real live audience there when filming it.
Its so artificial and fake and after listening to it for more than 10 mins would make me change channels.
Yeah, when i noticed it I couldn't help but hear it every time. It was on my subconscious and got very annoying
Canned laughter pisses me off tooSometimes I can ignore it... other times it just ruins it
When you view a real comedy like "The Office" (Brit version) with no canned laugh track and no background music, initially it seems a bit weird, somethings missing.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.
those cheap ass bitches can do anything with ductape.

Most Brit comedies have had canned laughter too.
The Red Dwarfers who have watched the new three-part special will have noted the complete lack of laughter, so different from the original shows.
Can I believe the magic of your size... (The Shirelles)
