My monster is just a lot easier to wheel around by hand than my 1200 sportster i had.
My Ducati is a bit of a buxom beast at 202kgs(dry weight)but it has never been an issue, she is an absolutele dream to ride, enthrals me everytime .Hasnt got a great turning circle but I find it incredibly easy to ride..

    My first road bike....

The Buell is 200kgs AND its tall...I am just careful when it comes to parking it LOL. Actually I had a wobble last wkend, it was parked on a slope and as I slung my leg over the cuff of my trou caught on a bungy that was on the back...me and bike started leaning towards oblivion...took all my strength to pull the bike back from going past that centre of gravity and over...that raised the heart rate hahahahaha

Was reading someones post wondering if riding a bike would work for or against being a teacher???

I have a mate who rides a Road King (now THAT is a big heavy bike ladies!) and she is a school principal.
Its a HUGE hit with her students and no... nobody thinks she is gay...maybe thats cos her hubby rides one as well LOL.

The only one's I care about don't react. Nana (she thinks the bike is nice & shiny), & Dad (accepts that out of his 5 kids, his 2 daughters are the one's who ride) .

My dog isn't so happy about it, but she nut's off at any bike, and she doesn't like me going out in the car without her either.

My friends say I must have big balls.
I say much bigger than most males.
Some males are too scared to jump on a sidecar, but I'm not!
My family love it, I ride with my 70year old grandfather.
My boyfriend thinks I'm crazy, he enjoys watching me, but would rather not

Before I started riding my thoughts were always "fark she looks hot on that" or "I wana be just like her when I grow up"..... hehehe and that wasnt that long ago. Well these days I havnt grown up much more..... my ambitions have gotten a little higher in regards to riding..... but hehe now I ride a hot bike tooo!!!!

And it generally always gets looks when a chick on a R1 pulls up to a red light, then lifts her visor...... oooooeeeerrrr
(and the guy looking is getting "THAT LOOK" from the missus for looking hehehe)

I figured I'd make it obvious I was female, so I'm getting my bike painted pink, then non of my guy mates will try borrow it to flog it off as their own either. two birds with one stone.

As for chicks riding bikes, why shouldn't we, and why should we get negative comments for it, though I found I had more positive comments from friends about me wanted to ride, than I got when I played ice hockey.

I can't help but laugh at the responses to how us biker chicks are in the 'bedroom'... screw the bed that's boring, take it to the garage

I just made a comment on this on another one. I want to meet other woman that I can maybe hook up with and ride with but I have met only one lady on my rides that wasnt bitchy and didnt appear threatened by me talking to the other men in their group even though I am 40 and married. I am looking to upgrade so I ask them about their bikes if its one I have been looking at. I have been riding on my own for quite a few years now, I have not had friends that ride and didnt care because I rode to wind down and switch off and get the adrenalin going after spending too long with the kids. I dont talk too much about riding with other woman and most dont care anyway if they are not interested in it. I think the younger and better looking you are the more threatened other woman are. And of course the older they are.
Owning a japa not a harley is the main comment I have had. Who even needs to respond to that simple mindedness.
Its a love of mine and always has been and I really dont care about negative comments. It makes my hair look bad too ooooh theres another negative. Who cares!!!

Hahahaha.... Maybe they feel threatened by you, chicky! I'll ride with ya when I'm in the Naki next! It does take a while to figure out who you can ride with and who you don't want to ride with.

FWIW, I actually prefer riding solo... I find it way less stressful and enjoy my ride much more. The only thing is, when I stop, I don't have anyone to talk to!

I'm looking at upgrading soon too...

After 10 years I am sick of riding alone. I still like to ride alone when I am trying something new (technique) or if I am out for a de stress and prefer to only have to think about me. Have just got a new group together and what has worked for me was leading the way just while we get used to riding together. I ride with a group of others who are just getting back into it and I had a little more recent time riding so they were ok with it. I like to ride smooth and constant and not erratic charging at corners braking hard just to make it around, not in a group anyway. And if any of us feel like that we say and let each other out to play. Its great.
Anyway, I have to ask you what your going to upgrade to?Its a massive decision and I have become obsessed reading reviews and asking others advice.

Well that sounds like common-sense riding to me. I've ridden both styles of group rides, and I absolutely loathe the charge at the corner and brake hard style of riding...

I'm thinking of upgrading to a Hyosung GT650 Comet. I've currently got a GT250R and quite like it, but my daughter recently got the 250 Comet and I have taken it for a couple of blats and found it to be quite nutty to ride. The naked, upright position is quite a different feel to the sport bike and I'm thinking I might give that a go for a bit. The ride is much smoother on the Comet than the sport bike too, which definitely has it's appeal.

It certainly is confusing when you look into it... Lots of pro's and con's.
