Hey this is just my personal take on the matter...I have formed my opinions about bikes by taking them for demo rides...Riding it is the only way to find out if its 'you' . When you ride the right bike you will know it

And another opinion of mine is that the bike doesn't have to tick every single box... for example I LOVE the Buell CR that I have recently bought BUT it is too tall for me. The other day I was parked on a slight slope and wasn't able to reach the stand...friggin annoying and somewhat embarassing...luckily my mate rode up beside me and kicked it up for me LOL.

I can relate to that! I was riding through a mongrel mob area of Hastings and these kids at a park all gave me the mob sign... funny thing was they realised I was a chick and the look on their faces.....was priceless next thing I know..they all gave me a hearty wave!

I always got some comment or other on the 996s. That was fair enough, it set hyundi van alarms off just idling... and ... that was ALWAYS cool.

There's a good few women at the trackdays too & most chicks are stoked to see other girl riders, but I do notice if you are out for a random ride to yourself its mostly other guys riding.

There is nothing cooler than checking a nice bike out when off comes the helmet and well what do ya know it's a chick.....Gotta love that shit....It's great to see more & more chicks in a what is normally male dominated sport & hobbie

Totally true comment- well said coffeejunkie! Its always a buzz to see other chicks out riding - can be scarce in places but hope more woman get the same buzz as we all do- the ENJOYMENT of riding

I stopped at a checkpoint the other day and when it came my turn, the cop did a double take when he realised I was a chick! He actually took a step backwards and fell over his tongue for the next minute or so while he wanted to know if I had my bike license, then proceeded to check my tail section out...

Most people I encounter think it's soooo cool I ride a bike. I think the women are a mix of envious and 'you wouldn't catch me dead on a bike' types! Hahaha.... It's definitely funny when you catch people's reactions and you've set them back on their heels.

Hell yeah, when I pull up on my bike, the looks, thumbs up , totall disbelief & a look of shock almost, is worth a thousand words. I did a group ride for ladies only, from Tga, TeKaha, then onto Gizzy. What a blast. the best thing was whenever we ;pulled up anywhere, was the totall disbelief that a group of 6 ladies were out doing this ride with NO guys. We all had big bikes from Triumph Rocket III, Honda Fireblade, Daytona 955, Street Triples x2, Ninja 900. and we will do it again. If you wanna join us on our Ladies rides, just give Bayride Tga a call & ask to be put on our Ladies TXT list. The more the merrier.
I agree with you Bikr3chik.. . .. most people think it is soooo 'cool' we ride a bike. Even the guys I work with can't believe I ride.. . . and when I said I was going to learn, they didn't really take me seriously, but now, they are just 'gobbed smacked. Another 'plus' for us ladies.
When I got pulled up by the local, first time ever, yep, even the look on his face was worth a 'bonus'. Arrogant sod he was.

Haven't had much bad reaction, except the standard from men or women sometimes about how dangerous it is... to which I usually reply that I'd rather live while I'm alive than than just exist. And if they seem ok might start with the usual about yeah, you've gotta be careful. Mostly people either gender just want to know about the bike and think it is cool.

I think even the bloke riders are pretty stoked with you guys ay. I happen to think these chick riders are just the-max. Dunno if I really understand them fully, but I love them heaps.

I went for a ride with two ladies yesterday.It was ok apart from all the talk about rarotonga and honeymoons and their husbands having midlife crisises!!!

I've been riding motorbikes for 36 years, the last 28 years on road bikes and the first few years was on off road bikes.
I find over the years that there are only a small percentage of women that are still riding after quite a few years, seems like it may only be a fad some are going through or it seemed a trendy thing to do at the time.
A few stop riding because they have babies and a few because their boyfriends or husbands don't like them riding bikes because lets face it, you are more likely to get hurt in a bike accident than in a car accident.
I'm not putting anyone down because they have decided to give riding away, we all follow different paths in our lives, I never had children so never had to stop riding and I married someone who also rode, I think he just wanted to get his hands on my Ducati that I rode at the time.
My mother started riding bikes when she was 18 and my father also rode bikes so it was inevitable that I was going to ride I guess, they loved bikes and I have always loved bikes too, it's a very personal thing to do, sitting on a bike and going for a ride, bit dull in the car compared to the bike isn't it!
I think it is completely normal for a woman to ride a motorbike and am surprised that some people find it a novelty to see a woman on a bike, I think there should be more of us out there doing it and I think it's great to see so many of us out there on the roads or on the track.
I never had the balls to race and I admire the girls that are doing it. I remember seeing a woman on an old Rudge racing in the Classsic races at Amaroo in 1984, she always came in second last but at least she was having a great time, she also used to ride the Rudge home after the racing, no trailers for her, what a woman.
Keep riding girls, we need more women on bikes I reckon.
