Yeah, i don't recall either of my driving tests (since I got disq for 18 months years ago and had to resit) having bugger all in them about being able to actually drive or control a car. It was mostly about keeping one eye glued to the speedo to make sure you sat between 48.5 and 49.9km/h, the other eye scanning everything down side streets. I don't think I got to spend too much time looking where I was going. No one checked to see if I could stop the car in a hurry without locking it up and planting it sideways into a school bus, nor whether I could turn it quickly and safely enough to avoid said school bus when it pulled out without looking...

In a line of 3 cars, there's an old fart in a Daewoo doing 40km/h down the perfectly clear road... behind him is the Asian women in her BMW travelling a respectful 60m behind him (don't want to invite a nose to tail) at an identical 40km/h.
