A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    Bowls can wait !

However. He might be intrested in this. Please add as you see fit.
    Hi Pete.
There is a good thread about getting started on here and on the VMCC site. If you're talking more about what happens at the track it's mostly just a matter of jumping in and giving it a go. Have you done any trackdays?
At a race meeting it's best to get there as early as you can (unless you have booked a garage), gates open around 7. At manfield the early arrivals can get one of the pit stalls for free and there is often space for two bikes in each stall. Then you rock up to sign on to sign in and get your transponder. Riders briefing occurs around 8.30. Mostly we get one practice/qualifying session then wait around to see how we qualified. Then you pick up a sticker to put on the front of the bike and work out where you are going to be placed on the starting grid. We get 3 calls to the dummy grid/staging area then it's out for a warm up lap, grid up and wait for the start lights to light up, then go out, then you're racing. Most racers are very helpful and friendly on the day, so introduce yourself to the people around you. Are you racing this weekend? Come up and say gidday. I am on #145 in the scrutineering shed. If we had space I would invite you in to point you in the right direction but it honestly wont take you long to get some help. If you aren't racing this weekend it might be worth coming along to say gidday and have a look. Top marks for giving it a go mate.
