    GREEN ACRES

THATS A BIT OF A SAD SITUATION , THE POLICE AND COUNCIL SHOULD REALISE THIS PLACE IS HOME FOR MANY PEOPLE, NOT EVERYONE THERE IS A DRUG DEALER. IF ONE HOUSE IN TAKAPUNA IS A TINNY HOUSE DO THEY MAKE EVERYONE THERE LEAVE THEIR HOMES? "NO".
MANY BUILDINGS I INSPECT HAVE ILLEGAL WIRING YET THE POWER IS NOT SWITCHED OFF THERE AND THEN.
HALF THE HOUSES IN THE WAIKATO DONT HAVE BUILDING PERMITS YET THERE IS NO REMOVAL ORDER.
I FIND THIS A LITTLE UNFAIR

Try putting your PC in a different room to the TV.

If the people are happy there and they're not intruding on others, let them be. In fact, it would be damn good if Housing NZ would just go out and spend $100k on 20 or so caravans and house 80 people rather than putting some single freeloading dole bludger in a 3 bedroom house, charging him $50 a week rental and giving him $500pw on a sickness benefit. Dickheads.

Well having been out there many times through my job - I would have to say that all the reporting on the situation was very biased in favour of a hard luck news story to create a bit of sensationalism. Believe me it was not a nice place, and not a good environment for children to be brought up in.

I agree, the story didn't give give a balanced view from both sides. This seems to becoming more common within NZ documentaries lately. Just like the piece on DNZ last night, where it seemed only the well to do children were interviewed for the pressures of the modern teenager.
