Bucket Chassis

I've got my custom rear engine mounts tacked to the MB cases now. Now just gotta do the head mount, then get the shock out of the way, lift the seat/tank to clear the shock mount and give me some leg room, etc etc. Check out Nigel's one in attachment, 27.5hp, beautiful work.

Yeah the front mounts would go straight through the exhaust pipe, but you could extend them. I have a cradle, but it was a bad idea.

Problem may be the front engine mount of an MB100 is a bad place to mount the engine, many people who do crack the engine cases. The rubber mount may help though.

Nigel's barrel is a sleeved down RGV250 cylinder.

I've cut the RS front engine mounts off and will reweld them to the frame without the square legs. A bolt will go through them and a bracket on the head. I've removed all the stock MB100 engine mounts and the gussets from the crankcases. The motor is quite small with them gone and makes it a lot easier to fit in. The carb and shock mount still want to be in the same place.

As for 27.5hp being against the spirit of competition, that's the intention. The same guy who spec'd Nigel's motor designed mine to make a 'bit' more.

All I want is a chassis I dont care if its got no plastics or anything. As I want to have a bucket so I can jump off my 125GP bike and straight onto my bucket and dont have to readjust my riding stle and use buckets as a learing class to get used to throwing a 125 chassis around tight fast bends like kiatoke or General Motors. So does anyone know of two chassis either RS or TZ or both

What about an RG150 chassis, there's a few up here and I suppose it's the same in Wellywood.

Nah no way Im using my bucket for practice and want something identical or similar to what I race the RGs r bulky

Don’t get too hung up on being the same chassis. Being able to be diverse on a number of different bikes is a skill best fostered at a young age. A primadonna may specialise but fall to pieces when something is wrong or the bike changes.

Someone like Fishe can jump on anything & go as fast as poss straight away. I can crank my 50 up pretty well but many people who have ridden it hate it. We had a swappa bike race & there was this GC110 I could hardly get around the track. Fishe got on & was pretty much in contention with everyone else on unfamiliar but better bikes.

All riding is good riding. Trials riding has helped me on the track. People like Holden used to ride several classes a day & he became head & shoulders above most others.

Yeah look at Jay. He is on rails he is legend on the 125 and he was good from the first round because he was used to the chassis from buckets. Im racing his 125 and want to have a good training bike for the rounds I do this year. I know that about Fish but he is good

At Kenny Robert’s ranch they train for Grand prix road racing around a dirt track oval on XR100s. Let’s see, . . I’m counting 5 world champions who regularly returned there.

But what would he know?

Does anyone have a 125 chassis it has to be a gp bike no worry on year but I dont want a motor in it. I want to use my bucket for practice

Are you getting rid of any of those bikes cause my min is hinting for me to do some adjusments on one of those. How long did it take you to make that frame.
