Wash it, or let it get dirty!

Simple question really...

do you wash your bike often always keep it tidy etc...

or are you the attitude of screw it its for riding, id rather spend washing time riding it!

i washed mine on the weekend... got home from work today...covered in mud..... grass.... oyster shells (funny story)

i like my bike to look clean... but for the 2 hours it takes to do it right it seems kind of pointless when it just gets filthy on the vineyard.

where do you stand.

Through winter I usually let the rain wash it. Summer I'll give it a once over every couple of weekends or so.

I didnt have a choice of "whenever I feel it needs it and I have the time". So I choose monthly. Prob every 2 or 3 months though.

Usually after a long ride .. which means usually every time I go out!

The funny thing is I use more water and suds to clean my rides than I use on a cage!

I wash my bikes as infrequently as possible. Takes too much time, doesn't improve performance and they get dirty too quickly. What's more, washing a bike almost guarantees rain.

I like mine really clean. It's been that bloody cold lately - too cold to clean!

One thing about cleaning your bike thoroughly is that it gives you the opportunity to check everything over as you clean.

I did have to get the water blaster out a while ago, the CB did a bit off road on the road and I cant stand a dirty bike.

It never rains here in paradise ... so it doesn't get dirty ...

And if it does rain ... I just keep riding 'till its clean again ... simple.

A bit off topic but fwiw liberal use of the sticky clear plastic stuff keeps things pretty good,my old TLS has done just shy of 60,000 k and things like fork legs etc are as new after having said plastic stuff applied way back in 99.Put the stuff everywhere,underside of undertray/casings(no it hasnt melted) and it keeps it like new.

For what its worth... ive always fancied your bike in a i could have a long term relationship with it kind of way.
