    More GN stuff

Well, the GN made it to its 3rd Birthday last Friday.
I have used it for transport to work every work day,bar one, when the wind was gusting to 130klm/ hr.It has endured wind, rain and frosts, and has never let me down.
It has now done 34000klm,is on its 3rd chain,3rd back tyre, but I am still useing the original front tyre,In spite of all the negative comments about GN tyres ,I have never had a problem with it.
The sprockets are just about as new, spray on chain lube and regular chain adjustment keeps them in good order, and changing the oil and filter every 5000 has kept the motor sweet.
The sad part is that I have decided to give up riding to work every day.Heavy frosts all the week before last, and heavy rain just about every day last week, have taken their toll on ageing bones, and I found I was no longer looking forward to the ride.
So it looks like its the end of the line for my biking days, and I will be looking for a buyer for the GN,as I can't really justify keeping it,for the few times it would be used.
I must admit that coming through the bends at the end of the Athenree Gorge tonight wasn't much fun in a 1990 Nissan Sentra, but at least I arrived home warm and dry.[my riding gear still hasn't dried out from last week!!!]
Oh well, perhaps I will win Lotto one day and be able to find the the bike of my dreams, the Royal Enfield Constelation that I used to ride as a teenager.
When was that? Don't even ask!!!!,too long ago to remember!!!!

    Long live your GN!

They are great bikes for what they are. Sadly, I sold mine on Saturday. It never broke and like yours I was still on the original front tyre.I'm kinda sad seeing it go but it was too tall for my wife and I spend all the time riding the harley. If it had more horsepower for two-up touring I'd have kept it.
After I got my full licence i stopped by the Suzuki dealer and rode half the bikes in the showroom. None was as comfortable to ride as the GN. They oughta make a 1200GN!
