Thoughts on these helmets

I've got an LS2 flipfront..wish i hadn't bought it.

Noisy as hell,really fucking noisy.

Poor fitting helmets,seems like medium,large and x-large all use the same shell size with more or less padding.I'm normally a med size had to get a large LS2 just to get my head in it.


Shoulda bought another HJC....

Interesting, The HJC I tried suffered from small sizing, Presumably due to using the same sized shell for the entire range, while the LS2 I bought is great for my giant head.

As for noise, I have a Nolan Flip-face, Its the nosiest helmet I have ever used, and turning my head sideways causes it to howl, Its caught me out a few times. Based on that I won't be buying another flip-face helmet....So far I haven't even been able to give it away.

well not with a LS2 maybe a Shuberth?...

With my Ls2, I have to open flip front ,pull sides out with straps as I put it on as it tries to rip my ears off...then once its on its slightly to loose...

• British Standard BS 6658: Specification for protective helmets for vehicle users (for type A helmets only)
• Japan Industrial Standard T8133.

If you wear your helmet in Australia is MUST have the following marking on it in an easily visible place:

Do you find the flip-front to be handy?

I found that I never opened her up unless I was taking off, in which case it just added an extra step.

Never had the desire to wear any helmet into a servo...

Never had the inclination to open it up while riding either, Though I do have the visor open almost exclusively. I'd remove the visor entirely if it didn't ad so much comfort in the rain.

yip found it handy as a smoker riding with non smokers,makes it easy to have
a quick fag(the cigarette kind, not the carver kind) at regroup time.

I hardly open it bar smoko breaks and getting the pile of crap on...

I'm the same, remove it at gassy's etc.

In saying that I use it maybe once every couple of months, as its shit.
Gotta keep trying it now and then to see if it somehow gets better
just sitting in the shed....
Unfortunately I'm Still waiting for the helmet fairys to fix it.

Of extra interest (to me anyway) is the LS2 helmet has the ECE 22.05 certification, the article hints that this is the superior standard due to batch testing, and that any helmet that meets it will exceed the DOT rating.

Heh... my open face is 22.05 rated. Could I use it in MotoGP?
