    New for Honda's 2009 CB250RS: Swingarm-Exit Exhaust

Said to improve exhaust heat dissipation, and reduce that pesky `backpressure' stuff. Honda also mentions chain-life benefits; gas flow over the chain helps remove debris.

I was wondering why it was getting a little louder lately.

Surprisingly, it doesn't sound like complete rubbish (KBers who had to listen to it go past their house every night may disagree), just harsh and loud. I think this engine could sound very nice with a properly crafted two-into-one mega; I heard a lovely XL250 with the same gen engine, but that's got different exhaust port sizes and cam profiles, hence different timbre. I may have to head down to the local exhaust shop and have them make some headers for me, then buy one of those WFO/EMGO upswept short reverse-cones.
