    Question Import bike for racing?

I am exploring the options available in importing a low kms 600cc or 675 (preferably with minor fairing damage to reduce purchase costs) and making a few alterations to get one setup for the track.

I was wondering if anyone has brought a bike in from Japan and if so what are your experiences, who did you import through and was it a viable option opposed to purchasing a race ready bike here?

Personally I would prefer to got one that hasn't been altered mechanically as reliability is a priority over performance. Its only gonna be used for club and a few street rounds anyway.

Plenty for sale in NZ if you ask around.
