    Personalised plate not included

    The 888 is a 4 valve, watercooled, fuel injected model, the daddy to the iconic 916, it was the top of the Ducati range in 1993 in the same way the 1098 is now.
    I've had this bike since 18,500 miles/2002. I bought and rode it in the UK for 18 months before returning to NZ. It was first registered in 1993 in the UK but when VIN'd in NZ was marked as a '92.

    The spare riders seat is a custom unit made by the previous owner using back protector memory foam. The rear panels I bought cheap in the UK for touring use so the originals didn't get scratched up by saddle bags, they are a bit rough but look fine from 20 feet.
    The original shock is included and the shock mechanism is fine but it has a worn out lower mount bearing.
    The clutch plates were purchased off Trade Me some time ago thinking I would need them sooner or later, I still haven't.

    This bike has been ridden so there are a few small stone chips on it and scratches on the mirrors where the previous owner used to take it down a narrow alley for storage, otherwise it's in good nick.

    The mini duke goes, but not very far. It's amazing how much money a house can swallow up.

    Bumpity bump anyway people, make me a realistic offer. I had to put something in there to start with but am open to considerations.

    I waved at you coming up Normandale rd yesterday & moved over, but when you passed it said 851 not 888 at which point I realised that you weren't you after all.

    So if you were feeling a bit out of sorts yesterday that could be why.

    I'm always out of sorts and they look the same from the front

    I'm a slack bugger too, I keep meaning to come over and check out the new pad seeing as it's only just round the corner, and how long have you been there now?

    Aaaaah, those were the days....I can still remember the 851's and these signalling the revival of Ducati. As far as motorcycling exotica went it didn't get any hotter than this.
    Good luck with the sale, they are still luvverly bikes.

    I found that old PB/851 T-shirt the day before in the garage rag bag.

    I'd buy it myself Eddy, 888 being the only Ducati I actually lust after untill the 990 V4 thingy that I can't spell is released later in the year. However, in true racing style, I'm broker than a broke thing.

    In which case perhaps one of the earlier Apollo V4s is more in sir's budget? They can't be worth too much now?

    Did someone say Indiana? {google to feel dirty}

    The Apollo wasn't really a cruiser, more a police cruiser
