What DrBob said is good advice, there is nothing more satisfying about customising a bike, you make it your own. Not what the factory thinks you want.
I still dont know about wood grain or wood for that matter on bikes???
I did have a '69 Suzuki with lace paint work on the side covers and multi coloured bubbles on the tank, previous owner must have been on drugs in the 70's is my guess,

Ok well as most of you know Affman and Crashe were down this weekend helping me out with the bike. Well we took the instrament pannel apart and had a look at the wireing. Turns out nothing was wrong with the wiring but my ignition assembly (as the shop calls it, I just call it the key cylinder) is busted and I need a new one. Hopped online to get the part number off the Yamaha website but it wasn't on there. No matter, I have a quik look at the other bits that I need and get the numbers for them. Decided to go this route becouse after thinking about it putting custom instraments on it would mean I have to rewire most of the bike and I'm not any good at that stuff and I need the bike running very soon. (I'll customize it when I have another bike that I can ride around) Did get some smaller indicaters for it though and will be mounting those as soon as the rest of the parts arrive. That's about it for now I will try and get pics of all the bits we took of and post them on here shortly.

Ok here are the current pics. First two are of my new indicators, the camera has auto flash so they look pretty crap but believe me they looks cool as in life. The next two are of my munted key cylinder, apparently the mounting bracket for my tach got knocked into it and busted it open. Thanks to Affman for spotting that one and Crashe for confirming that when my key turned it didn't feel right.

Ok now these pics are of my dash area with all the plastic bits (except for the headlight casing and fuse area) removed so that we could get to the wiring and the key cylinder. Went ahead and included all the wiring in the quote I'll be getting from yamaha just incase I do end up having to replace it. All fairly straight forward just unplug old and plug in new. Will have to figure out how to do my indicators as what is there now has three wires and what I am puting on only has on but I'll figure it out. Last pic is of the remains of my speedo and tach lying on the concrete next to my bike. We also got my pipes back to being on thier straight so I can get the centre stand down now. Also had a bit of a laugh when Affman tried to pic my bike up off the kickstand and had to fight with it. Mine's a heavy beast aye told ya it outwieghd my sisters mini.
