    Unhappy PLEASE HELP ME! Bike leaking oil

    HELLO KBers the hornet is my 1st bike i ever had... and i've had it for 3 weeks already.. and i just noticed something to the engine... its leaking i think? i don have any experience on bikes bout the parts and stuff.. i just know how to ride.. but yea ok... i don't know why but i just found out its leaking oil from under the engine? its not the waste pipe.. but its from the engine its self shown in the exampled picture..
    but the leak is not dat bad.. just 1 or 2 drops wen i ride it.. but the underneath of the engine gets oily and i dont think its a good sign.. can any1 help me? will post the real picture for u guys to see soon

    Did I see you out Mairangi bay way yesterday? Was a white hornet and a hyosung.

    i did go around there afternoon time but i dont recall a hyosung riding with me?

    yea my dad did say something bout gaskets... are they expensive to change?

    Looks like theres a cover that is either loose, or it needs a gasket replaced. Check if its' bolts are tight. Be careful not to overtighten.

    are they expensive though? where to get them?

    Ask your dealer for the gasket. Probably about $30 for just the gasket, but cheaper to get the bike shop to do it for you because all the bits you need.. gasket stripper, scrapers, and the fuckup-factor if you do it yourself.

    Firstly check if the bolts are loose. If they ARE loose, they will be absurdly loose, so just tweek up with the CORRECT size socket or ring-spanner.

    If you really really really really want to do it yourself, post again and I and others will give tips.

    Not too expensive. It'll cost you more for labour to fit it. I don't recommend you do it yourself since you don't know what a gasket is.
    If it wasn't for a concise set of rules, we might have to resort to common sense!
