    Quasi gets podium at VMCC

Great Weekend Racing in round two of the VMCC.

I headed down on the Thursday to take advantage of the trackday friday as I dont know the track that well and needed the practice, had a good day set the gearing right and got a few adjustments on the suspension as I was having dramas with the front end skipping, thanks to Robert Taylor he advised it was a rebound issue and a few clicks later it was mostly sorted , however I need some re valving work done to it.

Saturday rocked up and our qualifying was first up, I was worried about the track temp but once out there I got into it and ended up qualifying 6th which was shit but thats okay.I pulled a 2.18 lap time

Saturday Race one, normal crap start, but got a few spots quickly I was having a good battle between 5th and 3rd spots with a CFR450 and a KTM450 unfortunetly they binned and I got the third and managed to keep the third and take it across the line, I was beaten by a KTM660 and an Aprillia svx550 so was happy as there was no way I was going to beat them.I pulled a 2.13 lap time

    Race two 10 lapper

I got a good start and got into third again and basically had it for most of the race however I could see as rounding the long track hairpin I had a Aprillia 550 slowly gaining on me so I went as hard as I could to keep the pace up...............fuck ten laps is a long time, I was getting tired and my arm was so fucking pumped it was hard to use, it was a case of tuffen the fuck up and dig as deep as I could, on the last lap the aprillia with all that fucking 72 hp went past me on the back straight, I caught up to him as we entered the sweeper coming onto Dunlop and I went right around the outside of him and held it PINNED on the home straight and FUCK ME he got me on the finish line, I rounded the corner pulled up next to him and smacked him on the head lol (all in good fun) it was a good race.

I was starting to wonder how long my tyres where going to last as I could start to feel the rear getting a bit loose on the chain ripped side but I had no other tyre so I had no choice.

    Race three 6 lapper

Another crapola start (got to practice those) headed into turn one hard and braked as late as I could and hit the outside line which got me from about 6th into fourth, went into the infield on the inside and managed to hold it taking 3rd position and tapped it into the first hairpin again going wide, I went around the outside of the KTM660 and got into 2nd spot then nailed the straight as hard as me bike could take it, I got up to about 5th gear and the big 660 reeled me in but I got him on the picks and kept the spot but the back straight he ate me up and spat me out, I had the 3rd spot, I wasnt far away from the leaders but just simply didnt have the legs to catch them so head down and bum up for holding my 3rd...................I could see a Husky slowly catching me up and I worked hard to keep him at bay but he came past me on one of the straights so under brakes I got him and managed to keep him at bay until the flag dropped.
    I got 3rd.

So I got 3rd in the round overall and im 4th in the series which for me is awesome.
I have been racing for about 6 years and thats my first podium finish EVER so Im wrapped about it so let me bask in whatever glory is available ok lol

I ended up packing up early to get back to Hamilton (5 hour drive) so missed the rest of the days racing, almost crashed the truck on the way home I hit some black ice in the Mangakino gorge and slid towards a bank, kept it on the road but FARRRRRRK had me worried.

Got home to hear about the news about Nikki so hit the phones to find out she has a broken pelvis and a injured ankle so not good to hear, recover quickly Mate.

Cheers VMCC for a great weekend

A girlfriend once asked " Why is it you seem to prefer to race, than spend time with me ?"
The answer was simple ! "I'll prolly get bored with racing too, once i've nailed it !"

    You done good, young man.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Pies & beer yes but kinky sex has to be good for the fitness and thus the weight distribution
