Question BLACKOUTS/SEIZURES. Why me? What now?

A week ago the rug was pulled out from under me....

Starting my day off as normal gathering a mental list in my head of what I needed to do in town, setting off out in the Car...It wouldnt be long before my day became a state of confussion and a week on it still is

Last thing I remember was getting about 1km from home the next 1.5ks and 3 intersections I have No memory off

How on earth I never hit ANYONE or ANYTHING I will never know..Even parking in someone's drive with Car resting against the fence,1st to arrive the police so it seem rather Ironic it was a DOG handler giving my nickname

Then the Ambulance arrived and off to ED....When ask why I was in Hospital I replied because my back is sore and it still is aweek later and have no idea why..as I got out of the car and walked to the ambo... (I dont recall any of this its what I have been told by the doctor)

My first memory Was Seeing Melissa(my partner) at my bedside Maybe it was the fact that she was the only familar thing in a day full of confusion..

Despite all the bad press Wanganui Hospital has recieved in the past I can say the staff and service were great and the nurses always smiled commenting to Melissa how nice they were,it was then I was told that they had undressed me and I wasn't wearing undies

After being subjected to scans blood test and more scans I was free to go home yet no-one was any the wiser what had happened too me.Today I had a specialist Appointment still no wiser but have had xrays done and am to have a EEG done I'm hope that in time one day I will have all the Question's answered but for now its one day at a time

I am Gutted in the fact that until I get answers I cannot drive or ride for minimun Of 6 months

But I am greatful that I never damaged any propertry or anyone and that all my bikes are safe that I came through this and I am here to say that....and Melissa still has too put up with me

Not sure how you will handle not riding your bike though for the next 6 months.

Wow mate, that's a shocker - just pleased to hear that you are in one piece and that your good lady is taking care of you. It must be one thing that we all (especially those of us who take to the road on 2 wheels) must dread happening. Hope the doctors get to the bottom of it and that you recuperate well.

jeepers mate... glad you came out of that in one peice [and so did everything else on the street that day] you ought to come in to $2 shop tomorrow and say howdy.

there was an accident on the vic ave/guyton street intersection today... not sure what happened... heard the sirens at work and stuck me head out the door. eventually i was walking up the road for a better look. there was a guy on the road wearing a bicycle helmet [no sign of a bike though] and a works truck parked up. totally impressed with the speed that the cops arrived... 2 cars.

Holy fucken arse crack Batman! I wondered what the hell was going on after reading the R&R thread.
I hope you get some fast answers Baz and maybe it's just a one off. Nothing worse than being uncertain of uncertainty. Chin up dude!

Clearly you need a faster car. That'd keep you awake.

Had a similar thing happen to me. Fucked up the next 6 months or so then things went back to normal and put it down to a once-off due to pushing my body past its limit.

    Not driving was the worst.

It is horrible when things like this happen. Concentrate on getting to the bottom of the whys and the how to prevent its from hapening again. As you say thank God you did not collect anyone in your path, and thank God you were not on 2 wheels when it happened.

Six months seems like a lifetime, but it will go by reasonably quickly. What a hell of a scare! Take care of yourself eh.

And ffs wear undies. Did your mother never tell you to make sure you had clean ones on? Guess she forgot to say make sure you wear some
