    not so naked

hopefully i'll get this all finished in the next few days....

SV with GSXR-1000 fairing. Tail doesn't really fit all that well, so I'll stich with the 750 version for now.

Sorry for the small pics - taken with phone camera

    And so you should be!
One of the only things I learned from a bazillion years at univeristy (apart from tequila being toxic) is that if you have to apologise for the quality of a picture, then don't use it, as it's useless.

"Oh..um...well... this here's a picture of a bike I saw on holiday. At least it would be, if you could see it. Sorry it's a bit dark, and out of focus. But this blurry bit here, that would be the really kewl zorst system it had. If you squint, and ignore the person standing in the way, you can almost make it out...."

Kinda like my father-in-law's big arse TV. It's fookin HUGE! But the reception's so crap on some channels, that unless you stand in the next room, and squint so you can only just see the TV, the picture is so fuzzy as to be almost unwatchable. All for the sake of having his (smaller than necessary) aerial in the roof, so it doesn't get corroded.

We will wait with bated breath (whatever the hell that is) for the real pictures.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

well, it was either that, or none at all.

At the moment its just a work in progress. when its done I'll get some pictures. just for you. Maybe I'll even try and persuade jimbo to take some proper photos. All professional like.

Anyway - had to have fuzzy pictures so you can't see the box that's holding the fairings off the florr

The fairings "Just Fairings" sell for SVs are the GSXR one they do.

Presumably BA's bike is going to be put back on the road and sold? Wonder if he ever sorted out those gearbox problems.

Should make the bike a few clicks faster at the end of the straights but adding all those extra KGs must have some effect on the acceleration.

justfairings model for the SV is the 600/750 shape, although I'm sure they'd give you the 1000 model if you asked.

Just saved 4kg putting on aluminium subframe, so will need to see how heavy these fairing are. they're pretty light though.

I really noticed not having a fairing last time at pukekohe. manfeild and taupo aren't so bad, but I guess I'll have to let the laptimes speak for themselves.

I still need to push the gearing for more acceleration anyway - just need longer chain as I can't get a smaller front. So hopefully everything will balance out for the better.

Goodluck with the upcoming series. Will probably get along to watch most of them with manfield being so close.

Theyre running the short circuit, the long circuit and reverse as well right?

I'd have preferred to be at taupo, but events conspired agains that. So instead I finished off the bike. what d'ya think?

Apart from the fairing, it's got new aluminium subframe and small battery, rgv rev counter and ali fairing stay. Lots of custome brackets and bits hacked off to get it all to fit together.

Engine still stock - just got new spark plugs, that's all.

Now i've got to figure out what colour I want to paint it.
