The flying banana (just cos its yellow) in streetstock 150S

We left Hastings about 5 30, it was real cold and it wasn’t much warmer when we got to the track. I have been looking forward to a whole weekend of racing all week. After briefing we decided to change the jetting and do some other adjustments. After a couple of hours freezing my nuts of it was time to qualify, I Was really slow toddling around the corners it felt really long and I just wasn’t getting into the rhythm of it and ended up 29th on the grid. I felt a lot better on the bike in the first 6 laper and was going a lot faster but had a crap start after the guy in front stopped and I freaked out as I made a quick turn to go around. I was impressed to see Tyler fly passed me just as the race started on the rgv but it didn’t last long and I got him back on the hair pin. There was a big field of bikes and we started on the same lights as the 125s so it was cool trying to battle with so many people for the better place. I don’t think I got the long left hander at the back of the track right all day which frustrated me a bit but was still having a lot of fun. I managed to find Billy during the day, it was good to be able to thank him in person for paying my race entry and offered to stick some stickers on the bike for his business. The sun came out during the morning but it clouded over in the afternoon and looked like it was going to rain luckily for those who don’t like the rain it didn’t however I thought if it did it might shift me up some places if it did because I don’t really slow down in the rain. I finished race one in 6th same as at Taupo where I qualified in the same place and finished the races in 6th and 3rd.

We stayed at the motel across the road from the track another early morning though, out of there by around 7 30 to pick our pit space. It was really cold again with a band of cloud all the way around the track. Riders briefing was late and they talked about not having to rush because of how smoothly Saturday ran (I think they jinxed it). It was a long morning standing around in the cold but it was cool to watch the other races, especially the two guys out the front of the superbikes (wow). My race was at about 1 00 it was 10 laps so we made sure we had plenty of fuel because the last thing you want in a long race is to run out of gas. It was a much better race for me than Saturday and was over the moon with 4th place. We didn’t get our last race because they ran out of ambulances which sucked since we had waited all afternoon for it but “oh well.”
Many thanks to Bay cad services, Autocycle refinishers & fibreglass, scrivy, Burrell signs, Quality auto machinists, Mum, Dad and my personal photographer Dylan.
