Thumbs up My first VMCC meeting WOW!

First off, I was blown away with how well this meeting was run.
The entry list on their web site.
Stickers for the bikes grid positions. HEAPS of bikes.
Transponders, very cool. Well done VMCC.
Having just got back into racing this summer (after a 15 year rest) in the Postie senior pre'89 class. I was looking forward to racing some of the guy's from south of the Bombays.
I had done the NZPCRA rounds at Puke and have been improving with each race.
I was a little disappointed that none of the usual riders from Auckland (in senior pre'89) had entered, so I didn't know any of the other riders in my class.
I entered Posties and superbike but decided not to race in the superbike class as I was struggling with my heavy GSXR1100 trough the infeild.
Qualified in PC in 4th place and in Superbikes 14th.
Race 1; I got a bad start and was 5th or 6th into the first turn, I followed them through to the back straight then passed the smaller bikes to get into third. Next lap I passed Chappy on the back straight and into 2nd only to have him pass me back again through the infield .
On lap 3 I crossed the line in 2nd and watched Mossman run wide in turn 1 allowing me through to 1st.
On the last lap Mossy passed me at the end of the back straight but he made a mess of the chicane which allowed me the drive back past him on the line.
Yee Haa 1st by 0.07 sec. My first win in 15 years.
    Totally destroyed my wets though.
Race 2; Jumped the start (10 sec penalty ) and struggled with getting the 1100 into a good rhythm (a bit like pushing a fully loaded shopping trolley through Pac N Save at 6pm) finished 7th but with the penalty dropped to 9th. But was still the 2nd senior pre'89 home, so equal on point with Mossy at the end of the day.
Thanks to the Vic Club for an awesome day

Well done mate, see you at Puke on the 31st no doubt? Doesn't seem to be many of us doing both AMCC and Winter Series eh?

    Thanks,
Not sure if I'll make the AMCC meet on the 31st as the van needs some $$$ spent on it. It's costing more to kep going than the Gsxr.

It's been great to meet you Peter and to see the buzz you are getting out on the track. Keep those huge grins coming mate. It's only a matter of time before the Posties Snr disease kicks in and the modifications begin.

    Thanks Clive,
Sorry to hear your that your weekend wasn't as good. At least you can forget about slippery Taupo and look forward to Manfield.
I'll be checking the results to see how your series goes.

    Sorry, can't make Manfeild.
I think I'll need to buy some tyre warmers if I'm going to do these winter races. It takes a couple of laps to get some heat in the tyres and by then the race is nearly over.
I'll be watching the results, so you had better go hard girl.

Nice riding Peter and unlike yours my wets suffered no damage.LOL
You need to hit the manfield point and squirt track sometime soon.

There is a really nice photo of me leading you and Chappy throught the infield. I might get it blown up and stick it on the side of my van to remind you of how the race finished. LOL
Thanks for a great race, I look forward to racing you again sometime.
Now lets see, 127RWHP add some 3mm oversized pistons (1216cc) up compression from 10:1 to 12:1, fit some cams, should equal around 145RWHP.
That might keep you a bit more honest.

Thats sweet Peter my wifes coming arround to the idea of the 1070 kit.It should go well with the yoshi headers that are going on this week.I have 140 at present who knows where it end up.LOL.
Almost got you from 30metres behind at start of main straight as it is.
Get some bigger brakes first is my advice.
See you sooner rather than later.....
