Psh firefox+ Ad Blocker Plus never failed me yet
However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.
Works fine for me.
One of the biggest issues with IE is kind of ironic.
Because IE used to be much less standards compliant, web sites got in the habit of sending mark-up that depended on IE "quirks mode" - when they detected a connected browser was IE.
Of course, tons of people cry and moan about that lack of standards compliance.
So along comes IE8, which is more standards comopliant (I can't supply a number that rates it).
Now, some websites only go so far as to check if the browser is IE, and send "quirks mode" markup to it. If it's IE8, which by default is in "standards mode" - then the display won't be correct.
Damned if you do. Damned if you don't.
Try using the compatibility-mode button. You can basically tell IE8 to pretend to be an older version of IE, when visiting certain sites.
(There's stuff the websites can do to force this too, if they've not gotten around to updating their markup).
Measure once, cut twice. Practice makes perfect.
Sinve moving to IE8 I've had a lot more issues with IE crashing on some web sites. I've been moving more and more to firefox of late.
+1 for firefox... but I haven't had a play with Google Chrome as yet. IE8 has issues
Google chrome for me. Firefox and Opera are well over rated IMO. The only thing useful on firefox was adblock. I used IE7 as i had no issues with it and it meant i didn't have to install anything else. I think the problems with IE are well over hyped. The standards issue is going to be a pain in the ass for a while though.
