Ahhh haha haha haha...nothing wrong with the insert, just something wrong with the brain of the beholder. Went back and had a closer look at it and discovered that the manufacturers had very kindly placed a protective film on one side of the insert - like you get on the screen of a new cell phone...once removed, the insert is clear as...wadda dork, not seeing that first time...

HEHE, I did think about that, but didnt want to mention such an idea on here.
Trust me mate, you are not the first to do such a thing. I have people all the time complaining about goggle lenes etc for the very same reason.

Yerrr well when I first got the helmet the weather was pretty warm and I had no need to use the insert anyway...just had a brief look, thought "murky vision - fukkit" and left it in the box...but all is revealed now. Worked a treat this morning in the fog. Pity we can't do similar for the outside of the visor...

I use Prestone Rain Repellent on the outside of my visors. I slite tilt of the head and the water beads straight off. Its awsome.

I would certainly recomend the Pin Lock system
Toured the Sth Island ( Shoei XR1000 ) and even in ICEY Freakin whiteout frosty morning the view sure beats the thought of " where the fucks the road ? "
As Crazyhorse stated earlier the positioning of the overlay makes you adjust your head slightly so as your not seeing thru the top part - above the insert thing ( perhaps its the 1080 in the water on the east coast ! )
I have 2 visors and usually swap them in the Summer anyhow

I got it from Repco. Im not too sure if they still sell it as I have had the same bottle for over 6 years now...
Its pretty consentrated stuff, and with the size of a helmet visor it only needs a tiny bit at a time.
Just a bit on a soft rag to wipe it onto the OUTSIDE of the visor. When it gets wet just a small tilt of the head each way and the water beads off.

Well, I took Sparky up on his offer last week, and i've been very impressed.

The Pinlock is amazing, and they just may have sold me a new set of tyres too. Just need to make up my mind as to which ones.

Just saw this thread - I've been meaning to get pinlock inserts for ages - will the offer still be available on Saturday (if you work Saturday)?

    Hi,
Im not sure if I will be working this Saturday or not just yet. Ive been asked to play hockey Saturday afternoon.
The offer will carry on as long as there is a demand for them.

Not that I know of. Although it is fairly easy to do, so maybe ask at your local bike shop. They just need to take their time with it.
