Antifog pinlock inserts

Cool, grabbing one off Martin (easily the most hassle free option!). Can't wait to get it here and install it, thanks!

Had my first day of Uni today (masters) so I communtered in to town, managed to have a bus driver try and merge me into a pancake to avoid a car that was turning right and a road cone in the middle of my lane on symonds st (gigantic wtf).

Cold air over my face the entire way and got a piece of grit in my eye at one point so being able to close the visor fully will be awesome.

I used a BMW helmet that was fitted with a pinlock for a few days...weather was fine so no problem with fogging....What I did find annoying was the edge of the pinlock screen was in my pereferal vision distacting/interferring with my normal visual concentration.

You can remove the pinlock but then need to store it elsewhere when travelling.

Maybe its just me....sigh

Just one of those things you need to adjust to.
Either you can or you cant.

+1 +++++ for PinLock on Shoei!!!

Used to have all sorts of problems with visor fog, now when come home in evenings I walk into the house with condensation literally dripping everywhere the pinlock isnt, and 100% clear vision!!

Im not so fussed on the 'line' just above your line of sight, but its a small price to pay for not having to fluff with visors in the rain, and at the lights.

Now if I can just figure out how to stop my sunglasses misting up :-)

Easy... Buy a tinted visor so you dont need to wear sunnies

I have a vent on mine it doesnt seem to fog (when riding) ,only when im walking round with it on

Had one of these installed yesterday and its brilliant. No more opening and closing the visor at lights etc, and no fogging whatsoever.

Makes a huge difference, and for $50 you can't go wrong.

That would work, but then require 2 visor changes a day and carrying a second visor around everywhere, since I ride home in the dark every night

So yeah, the sunnies are definitely the easier option for dealing with the sun-strike in the mornings.

Depends on your helmet I think. I can't wear sunnies in mine at all, they get pushed up and away from my eyes. Bought a tinted visor and the problem is gone. The GSX250F has a cool storage compartment where the tank should be so that is currently where i keep my disk lock, spare visor in a bag and my lunch when I'm riding to Uni. Someone a few posts back mentioned having a half-tinted visor and it being ok for day and night riding? Perhaps that is an option?

Installed a pinlock in that visor over the weekend too, rode to Uni and back yesterday with the visor down and breathing hard into the helmet to try fog it and couldn't. Virtually dripping off everywhere around the pinlock, vision stayed clear. I'm very impressed. Installed it myself without too much hassle using a 5mm drill and some careful hammering

but I'd get the shop to install it next time for sure.

When I went in to Motomail to get the new tinted visor I mentioned to the guy there that the RJays Fog Film stuff didn't work very well and showed him the visor. He suggested that maybe I had installed it wrong so that it hadn't sealed and gave me another one free, top service from that place, impressed again! Stuck that on the clear visor with great care and attention. Worked well on a ride to a friends house late at night but in the morning it looks like it is touching the front of the visor again, so will be back to not really working all that well...

Definitely a pinlock convert, won't bother trying anything else!

Edit: As for the pins being in the edge of your vision it probably depends on how far the visor is away from your eyes, on my RJays GP2 helmet you can only see them if you look hard in one direction and to be honest I only checked that when I first installed it, rode twice yesterday without even noticing.

Thats what Ive done for the last 5 years. Its not hard to change a visor really. I know of people putting their spare visor into a sock to protect it while its not in use. I just dont like wearing sunnies in helmets. But thats just me.
