    Welcome to NZ Girl!

Solo round Europe? Sounds like a trip!! Did you post a Ride Report back home on that? Cut and paste it here if you did! Cheers

    Welcome Chris!

Simply stunning part of the country, with bike roads galore!!

The MOT is referred to as a WOF (Warrant of Fitness) and is a six monthly check up costing around $45- (varies a bit).
If the vehicle is less than 5(?) years old, it is valid for one year.

Living in Wanaka, you will need a decent liver...

My advice: If you're planning on riding to Australia you'll need a good set of water wings!

Welcome to KB and welcome (soon) to NZ! See you on the road!

I've just completed a solo tour of Europe on a Fazer 600...was awesome and a perfect bike for the job.
Anyway I'm looking to meet fellow bikers and some advice or direction pointed on bike ownership in NZ. such as do you have MOTs? or what are they called in NZ etc etc.......
Once the snow season finishes I'm looking to buy a bike and ride around the South & North Island and possibly over to Oz too.........so any advice would be muchly appreciated!!

And of course any bikers who would like to meet for a beer would be great as I know no one in Wanaka/New Zealand!!!
I'm a 26 female...into bikes, snowboarding, extreme sports and used to work on Oil Rigs as an engineer........No this is not a personal add so keep your GSH/WLTM/THM bull cr*p to yourself!! would be cool to meet others with similar interests!!

Can't wait to see your country!!!

    Chris
Just got back from the first w/e of the season snowboarding. You will want to catch up with Woodybee for a start to be led astray, or pointed in the right drection, depending on your viewpoint. If you have a liking for porridge and uninsulated houses you will just love Dunedin!.We are up in Wanaka most weekends during the season anyway. Maybe catch you up the mountain soon. Welcome to the South.

    Thanks to all!

Well I'm glad to see everyone down here has a sense of humour! The replys have kept me entertained! I made it to Wanaka a few weeks ago now....no bike yet will wait a couple of months till I go on the hunt....However I've already been drooling over the roads as I sit on the bus up the mountain everyday!!!! I'm not very good with the site yet so asking for PM's is probably equivalent to asking me to perform brain surgery right now......but hey I'll work it out at some point!!! Hopefully get to meet some of you soon and chew up some bends and drinks some beers

    Thanks again!

You might find PM's challenging, since the post count may not bee enough. Emails might be better.

    Terrible roads down there, eh?
