    Moving to the Manawatu

Before anyone cries "Don't", the deed is done. I am now esconced on the Pahiatua Track 20 km from the metropolis of Palmy. The tricky part now is to get to know the best roads in the area (quite a lot to chose from).
We have been here for a few weeks now, but I have only had time to get out 3 or 4 times. If anyone has seen the slow git on the old Suzuki dinosaur - t'was me
I have been off KB for a while due to selling, moving, stressing etc but the old place seem the same. A few new names and the odd old one missing, especially BMW. I knew her years ago, but never got a chance to catch up with her again - much to my regret.
With luck I will get to run into a few of the friendly locals (there must be some) and convince them that I am not just here to steal their woolly girlfriends - I am from the Rapa and brought my own.
    And now to

indeed there are some great roads round here and awesome peeps riding them. check out manawatu rides for the local rides. Feilding riders club is up and running for weekly rides. Everything has been a little quiet due to the bad weather but coming up in the summer will be the fri night rides starting from ashhurst mobil at 6pm every fri night. dont be shy, we dont bite, (cept for the honda riders - watch out for monie, yod and bonez and banditrider part-time)

Hope to see you around Dadpole!!! If you see a silly black bike that is too loud [just right] give me a wave, I go over the track as often as possible. Ride time?

Always watching out for the Honda riders
Can't wait for better weather to arrive as I only have weekends. Working in Lower Hutt Mon to Fri and only home on weekends, so a Friday night ride may be a bit tricky.

Easy! You live in close proximity to Kwakaville doncha know..
Like Cowboyz said, plenty of good roads to ride 'round them parts and when you've seen a few of them there's always riding east to consider. And south...north..
Man you landed in some good riding country mate.

Lots of gits here (but I'm scared to name them)and your Dinosaur is a classic. All the woolly girlfriends have been fleeced. the Rams seem popular though.
    Welcome to Manawatu.

Welcome to the HOOD as they say keep in touch with the Manawatu threads you live on the track good place too start you have access too many roads north south east and west...when the time is right you will discover the Apiti loop down side is you will venture through KWAKAVILLE(AShhurst) there a good bunch of hillbillies just like you can't blame a blonde being a blonde you can't blame them for owning Kwakas its just that they don't know any better

My god! I rode through KWAKAVILLE a couple of weeks ago - even stopped for fuel. The old GSX must look like a Kwaka from some angles. Why else would they make me pay before I filled up.
Certainly are roads to explore around here, especially the ones out to the east and towards Hawkes Bay. I do miss the Wairarapa roads, although too many of them are dead ends, so no good round trips.
The down side of living on the Track is that living right on it I hear all the lucky souls riding past while I am stuck doing "essentials"

Feb 15th it was. Earned me 2 months off work which wasn't so bad once the ribs stopped hurting. And got another Tiger out of it and all things considered it could have been a lot worse.
