Better off saving it, and keeping the zxr stock but well maintained.

Looks like you've got a few toys pilled up in the shed Skid, sell all of them and you'd be able to get a nice 04 ZX10 done.

Between the fairing kit and getting a decent paintjob you'd be almost half-way to a 2nd hand ZX6R...

...the 250 will still be a 250 no matter how it looks and you won't see a single dollar back on the new fairings, even if you don't crash it.

If your 250 is in good nick that should net you at least another $3,500.

Your bike, your money, your choice.

I never poured thousands into my 250. I just took care of what needed taking care off to keep it in original condition.

Ehrm, no... nobody ever said take off your fairings and neither would I have bothered to (besides getting race fairings for a 250 is going to be either difficult or expensive). Shit happens.

Well, so much is true. I actually binned it in an attempt to break your braking record - but alas, I do not possess your insane skills and I couldn't even do 60-0 km/h in 4 meters or less.

Why not learn from that - don't waste your money on a bike where you won't get the money back. No matter how much money you spend on it, it will still be a 250.

The price wasn't ridiculous though - the only problem was that I didn't offer finance. It sold for $6,000 inside a weekend after I had a dealer sell it on behalf.

Most of the bikes ive had in my time ive spent plenty of money on which has resulted in owning some really nice bikes that stand out in a sea of Oem stuff, moneys just money, enjoying your motorcycling is priceless and if its something a little different that floats his boat then so be it.I continue to spend money on one of my bikes with no hope of ever getting it back but i get so much enjoyment out of that particular bike i consider it well spent.

Yes, but your bike does indeed stand out. It is quite spectacular to say the least.

My point is that the TYGA on a 250, with all due respect, just looks like a smaller zx6r. Combined with the fact that sM has quite often raved about experiences riding bigger bikes - I am merely suggesting that he should consider what he want thoroughly before he throws a large sum of money towards this mod.

But, as I wrote in the first post I made in this thread (and I guess I should just have not bothered replying in the first place):

Fair call M,from what i read in this thread way back hes stuck with riding the 250 for quite some time and if i was in the same position i would get modding to help pass the time.

last i checked zx6r didn't have that tail light....

did you ever think maybe i like the look of a zx6r.... i actually prefer it over it as it has headlights more like a 06 zx10r....

and the amount of learner riders that want a 250 that looks like a big cc bike is incredible... i could flick this bike once done on trademe within a week for 6k

but im not going to because i like to customise my bikes how i want them

and the tyga kit is just the beginning of the mods.

but you lot will have to wait until its done to see what else gets done to her.

sorry or snappin at ya a bit mikkel i get on edge when everybody shuts down everything i do, kinda a natural reaction these days.

I know and there for I didn't snap back. Oh, and yes I did assume you like the look of the zx6r... I do.

And I wasn't in any way trying to shoot down your idea. I, not being aware you were stuck back on a 250 ccm restriction again (and with the apprarent intent to observe it too ), just thought you would have done better to save for a bigger bike. But hey, there's no time like the present. One thing though - if your zxr250c is a 1993, have you had it derestricted yet? If not, getting that sorted should be quite worthwhile.

De restricted? the onlyhing ya can derestrict on zxr's is the speedo 180k cut out, havnt got one yet but easy enough to lay my hands on...

apart from that ive done a full alloy DID exhaust system.

But going to change the end can to a stubby kevlar one.
