    Bands that sound better live.

What bands do you think sound better live, either at the concert/gig,or recorded live, then they do studio recorded?

One that springs to mind,is Judas Priest.

I have several of their live albums, and each one seems better sound quality then the studio ones.

Anyone can get it right in a studio environment, taking as long as it takes to nail it,but a true sign of a good band to me,is when they are better live.

There's been a hell of a lot more bands that sound bad when they play live, and after seeing a Guns 'n' Roses concert in America that was aired on TV a few years back,i'd have to say that they were one of them.
The crowd attending wouldn't have disagreed with me either,as they were booing them to the point that G 'n' R started abusing them. They were all WAY too wasted to play any good at all.

So lets see what bands that you like better live.

Iron Maiden sound the same, live or studio.

    Lord sound great live.

I thught the Eagles sucked arse, but that had nothing to do with sound quality.

Hmmmm. Can't think of any off the top of my head. I can easily nominate several that were significantly worse.

    Feel free to name some.
It's amazing how some bands rely totally on the sound engineering wizardry of the studio to mask a lack of talent.

The Arcade Fire. I was never much of a fan of their albums, but they were amazing on stage.

Depeche Mode. Utter, utter crap. I walked out well before the end.

The Who. Not impressed at all, considering the hype.

Smashing Pumpkins. Just a fucking noise. Very disappointing. Walked out.

Ones that I've seen that are better:

    Sarah McLachlan.
    Julieanne Regan.
    Lloyd Cole.
    New Order.
Iron Maiden. Seen them a few times. Top of their game, still.
