I wouldnt be doing any tweaking on a 250 twin yet...I'd read the proposed rules for them, not for the 150 ss

When you say Street Stock... does that mean no mods to the bike at all? Not even a noisy zorst?

I would assume you are allowed a noisy exhaust and different rubber and brake pads and lines. But best to wait as has been said, till final rules are set

I'd hope so.... Hyos are no fun unless the zorst is noisy... nor do they sound as cool.

It would be a disgusting sounding race with them all doing their sewing machine noises

I wonder if you'd get away with sneaking in a Hyo with a K9 GSX-R 1000 engine inside?

Would be cool if you did.... you'd sure win the race easy... if the frame didn't collapse under the sheer awesomeness of the Gixxer engine, that is

I would give you a crate of beer to do it, we shall pretend the motor will fit too....what about a 650cc four stroke 250 gp bike

True ay.... grab an engine out of a wrecked 650R (I've seen a few on Tardme lately) and bung it in... good chance it may actually fit too!!

When the question gets asked of why your bike is so quick compared to the others.... erm, say it had 10 weetbix this morning where as the other Hyo's must have only had 8?

The rules for the class are almost ready to be finalised as I understand...
Youll be allowed another exhaust,Airbox & filter to be standard, only fork oil & level of oil at this stage, maybe springs, standard rear shock though spring may be changed, jetting & carby slides also, motor will have to be OEM,sounds like you can change bars, add crashbungs etc, no traction control
They want it as close to OEM really, with obvoius exceptions like brake pads & lines, removing passenger pegs, lights etc
Dont quote me on all of this, the proposed rules are on Motorcling NZ

Mint, 5 thou oversize jets, space the carb needles .5mm, pilot screws 3 turns out should do it after you have a different can on the back, airbox and filter are already top notch and you will only loose power that way on the spada. cbr250r mc19 front srpings, preload at max on the rear is heaps if your shock is ok. cbr250r clip on bars [lower]. DOT 5.1 brake fluid front and rear and a decent set of pads. Braided lines...done! Should see 34hp at the hoop, bugger all weight in the headlight and the pegs though. I would be suprised if there was 2kg there
