OK, so how do we go about applying for a Sept/Oct date for next year now then? Something with a Saturday BOB and maybe CAMS on the Sunday?

The date is fixed. We/I left it too late to get any earlier dates. I will be in contact with BEARS and CAMS and Canty Motorcycling to see when they actually request their dates and piggy back onto one of them. As Warrick said , having BOB on SDaturday and BEARS on sunday is ideal, so we will try for that for next year either in september or october. I am not sure how it was done in the past, but leaving the organising of the date untill June just does not work anymore.

I offered myself and all my "valuable and helpfull information" to SuziQ but I was sent away and not even invited to a committe meeting. no probs, its good to take a break.

D your name wasn't on the committe list and with all the hassle you caused I felt that you were being too disruptive to warrant an invitation. Your better half was invited and she couldn't make it.

Not sure where the idea came about that the planning for the BOB starts in June? That just happens to be the time when the calender of events for the track is released.
The BOB Planning for the next years event pretty much started the day after the previous event. We started the *REAL* planning for last years one (held in June as that was a date we were able to get, and it worked out well 'cept for the snow ) in Feb, 3 months prior to the BOB.

yep I was a little busy.
It is a shame you didn't have the previous pres there as you might have had some information like the above passed on, but that was your choice. I think things might have gone a whole lot better if the invite had happened but I guess that is all past now.
And the only reason we have actually HAD a BOB in the last 3 years has been due to D's obstinate nature to getting it restarted... along with a fair bit of help from some other bucket members. Changes & discussions often only happen through conflict, and there is some amazing stuff that can happen when the right push comes along. Last year we had to jump at a chance to have a whole days racing on a moments notice (big Cheers to Buddha for getting a day from the car club guys) and it worked out well.

Winter has traditionally been the time to run the BOB simply cos that has been the only time we could get the track, a problem which you are facing now. And winter makes it a challenge in itself. Its not 'just' an endurance event, it 'was' a day (or half day with BEARS) of so much bucket racing you are knackered at the end.

I am quite saddened that it has come down to simply one race amongst another event, not a standalone event anymore.
And unfortunately the timing means that another event (which has been planned since last dec is taking precedent)... bummer cos i enjoy the CAMS meets as well.
And it also means a whole lot of travellers wont be able to make it due to closeness to the Taupo event & xmas.
Which is the biggest shame as it was awesome having you guys down here!

...and thats just my thoughts on the matter.

um, so I suspect there is not the 50GP being held again? Or is there?

Anyway we (the racers) do appreciate these meetings being organised, sometimes we are ungrateful gits (well I am) & complain that it clashes with their hair appointments & the organisers wonder why they do it.

So a big thanks to D & R & all associated, but an equal thanks to SQ & the new crew for getting it going this year. It's easy to see how life gets in the way of getting these things off the ground & dealing with booking dates etc from people who are passionate about other disciplines, not yours.

I really enjoyed last year & though I left with a couple of broken ribs it was a good meeting for all my bitching about the weather & I got to catch up with the Chch crew & stay with Tony & his family which is always a great gig.

With a littlun it may be hard to get down there but I will try.

I think you will find that is Taupo this year as part of the RRS.

Here we go, from the entry
We are again running the NZ F4 & F5 (buckets) G.P’s. F5 GP on the Sunday afternoon and F4s on the Monday morning. Full MNZ licence must be used for NZ GP placings.

That isn't the same thing, we're talking about a 50cc GP that is open to proper 50cc GP bikes

Not quite sure where you got the idea that it will not be a stand alone event anymore. It is just this year that we are holding it with CAMS. I am planning on having a stand alone event next year and have got the ball rolling for finding a date in Sept/Oct to coincide with another event on the other day of a weekend, so we have a 2 day racing weekend for the out of towners as well.
