    Road opening

I got this message in an email today :

The date has now been set for the official opening of the new seal for the Ahuriri Flat/Karoro Creek Roads which connect the Owaka Highway to Willsher Bay near Kaka Point.

The date is SATURDAY 19 SEPTEMBER at 1.00 pm to coincide with the motor cycle Penguin Rally. The ribbon will be cut on the road by the Willsher Bay Domain after which there will be a mass drive through of the motor bikes taking part in the rally. The proceedings will then move to the Kaka Point Hall for afternoon tea.

This is a good chance to get some good positive publicity about bikers and the benefits a community gets from us and rallies - so please spread the word and join the ride through the ribbon.
Next step will be trying to stimulate some TV coverage - working on that now

Be aware that this year there MAY be more attention paid to those heading to the rally by those that wield the demerit book.

Unconfirmed at this stage, just a heads-up.

    Do they do gravel ??

Hopefully they will help prevent any antics turning up on any TV coverage - would be good for any stories to be all positive stuff

Anyway it's about halfway thru Winter and the first rally is the Pissed Penguin and it's not too far away!!
It's one rally that I've never done before but everything I hear about it is good! so...I'm gonna head down to the land of blue & gold; speights; and where they all roll their "R"s etc (inbreeding I'm told!!) and give it a shot Actually I'm not sure if Kaka Point is in Otago or Southland
As long as they have Export or anything apart from Speights I'll be happy
    Hopefully see you all there
kaka point is still part of otago the pissed penguin a good wk end and theres lots of speights
