I don't remember - it's been over 5 years since I signed up. I suspect it may have been jrandom, as he's the first I remember, but I could've met a whole swag of people on a group ride. (If so, I would've instantly forgotten them - although I'm good with faces, I'm hopeless with first introductions.)
I do know who introduced me to KB - that would be Dangerous. We both owned VTR1000s at the time, and he saw me post on an overseas Firestorm or Superhawk forum, and pointed me at Kiwi Biker.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Shit I can't remember the person but the ride was the Coro loop. It was week 3 on my new CBR1000RR. My first road bike...

I remember that Loose Bruce was on the ride.

Well, lets see. I guess that would be wari. I was talking to him at work while he was browsing some overseas biker site and he said I should start a NZ biker site. I wasn't really interested, so I told him I would setup the software on my server and he could run it. So after setting it up and creating his login, I told him to go for it. After a couple of days of him not doing anything, I thought fuck it, I may as well do it myself.

Our young fella Zac played drums in a church band. He become friends with another young fella there whose scruffy, bearded larrikin of a father would drop him off on a GSXR750. Eventually the scruffy larrikin dangled the keys to the liquor cabinet (well, the bike) in front of me. So I tried it on for size, liked it and bought an 1100. Then the old fart kept pushing me to 'check out this fabulous website'. After much prompting, I did.
    The scruffy, bearded larrikin? Gixxer4ever.
    His young fella? Speights_Bud.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Mack The Knife. My very own personal shopper.

He helped me to choose gear when I was still a pillion - and he gave me excellent advice that has served me well. He was so kind and patient! Introduced me to all the bike gear shops in Barry's Point Road, then to Kerrie at MSW, and tagged along carrying my parcels for me.

I'm eternally grateful that Mack was the first KBer I met. I was a little nervous setting out to meet a complete stranger, but as strange bikers go he was a great choice!

There was a "Rusty Tappets" annual gathering being held at the local Otematata hotel over labour weekend 2005.

I had read on KB that some of KB members were going so I went over to see if I could find any of them there.

There were two other functions on there as well and lots of people at the pub.

I tried asking people (all strangers to me) if they were Kiwi Bikers and got some very peculiar looks!

What's their name, they would ask?

    I don't know!

    What do they look like?

    I don't know!

    Where do they come from?

    I don't know!

I can't fucking help you mate....!

I was about to give up, because people were pointing and muttering among themselves and shaking their heads.

The guy standing next to the big gruff Harley lookalike that I was asking turned around and said , hey I am one of them!

It was, Skyryder and he was the first KB'r that I ever met and we have been friends ever since.

Since then I haven't met a KB'r that I didn't want to know or mix with.
