    New Racer

Due to increased pressure from mates i have decided to race this year in the Vic club winter series at manfield in the clubmans class.
as a stop gap measure i have decided to race my Zed until i have decided what type of bike to buy to race competitivly.
i have down geared the bike, put a set of super corsa's and put a set of ZX9R front fairing on. At the moment it dosen't have the sponsors logos on it but should have them on for the April 10th KB day at taupo, at its first hit out as a race bike.

Many thanks to those who have helped me on the way:
Martin Billing (Sparky Bills), Daniel Plaisted, Garth Blomfield, Motomart, Hamilton Motocycle Centre, Inframax Construction.

Anything I have to think about for next month? I'm hopefully entering the streetstock at manfeild. Do I have to join the VIC club now?
If you already have your race licence, you must be joined to a club already.
Thus you don't have to join Vic club as well.
But it would pay to if you where sure you would complete all 6 rounds.
As Vic club members get $10 discount per round. Vic Club membership is $35, ($25 for renewal), $60 discount - $35 Sub = $25 saving Ye ha,, I'll eat today!

Have you got a entry form? They must be in at least 7 days before the event.
    NO ENTRIES ON THE DAY!

I hope to be in Streetstocks too.
    See you there.

OK, where are these entry forms, on their site?

Also, you say I'm already in the Vic club cause I have a race licence? Doesn't sound right as it's a MNZ race licence, not a Vic club one or whatever.

See ya at the streetstocks if all goes to plan

    Streetstock info:

Wiring up the Sump plug shouldn't be a problem as we did it to the KX for the motard. Oil filter shouldn't be a problem, my bike is perfect and has no illegal mods, all I have to do now is send in my membership form to the Vic club and then enter the next race (if I'm right, it's on the 23rd isn't it?)

Yes entry forms on their site. Link on home page: Here

No, I suggested you where aready a member of some club.
You aren't suppost to be able to get a MNZ race licence without being affiliated with a club first.
My suggestion to join Vic club was just an extra option.

Just to be clear, - You don't have to join Vic club if your already have your race licence through MNZ and another club.

    Hypothetical question time!

Assuming one wannabe noob rider, with only a small amount of offroad riding experience and wanted to get a road worthy and streetstock good bike, what should one get? And it should be good for most of the Learners/Restrickted phase.

    Many possums,

Oh right. I'm in the Waiarapa Motocross Club, got the membership so we could go onto the track and learn to ride. That explains being able to get my MNZ licence

I plan to get a Vic club membership as it cheaper in the long run, then pay for all 6 races in advance (35% discount if you do)

    And Cryhavoc, get a RG150 or KR150

    RG 150, KR150, KRR150 all good. Don't get the RGV150, air cooled/ hopeless!

Should get a good RG150 for $2000. Will give heaps of fun right till you get your full Licence. CBR250 or similar would be nice, but your paying $4000 + for a good one.
