Talking Lil' ol' hornet rocks around the clock!

Well today my faithful lil'ol'hornet has finally gone around the clock, it all started so innocently ... TOTO was on MSN and we got chatting, he was still keen for riding - especially when I said I would be completing a milestone for my lil'ol'hornet!

I've owned this little beasty for just over two years now and it's been an interesting experience, it's been my first bike and I have learnt much from it. It's been around the block and been just about everywhere in the North Island, today, finally saw the numbers slide over into 00000

Basically there was about 280km to polish off and that was done in short order, a little trip to Kaiaua, around the back of Mercer, up through the Hunuas, Twilight road, Whitford, Maraetai and to cap it all off, a visit to Manukau Heads Lighthouse. It was the trip to the lighthouse out from Waiuku which saw the numbers tell the tale! I pulled over and got out the camera for some piccies!

The history of this lil'ol'hornet is a timeline of my biker life, it has helped other bikers gain their licences, influenced a whole new generation of Hornet riders, but most importantly, was there just to be ridden by me ... a whole lot!

Thanks to all those excellent people that have helped me fix it, provided assistance when I crashed it , complimented it, ridden with it! Way too many to list! So, hopefully, I'll be seeing it around the clock again!

And it goes to show that a bike with high Km's on the clock is still a good and safe buy if it has been well maintained...

So for the lil'ol'hornets pressie, I will be giving it a new paintjob, get some dents hammered out, retouch some of the scuff surfaces and mayhap some braided lines ... might also update the LED system with a remote like his big brother!

Ahh bikes, I lovvies them I does!

I rather think you have a life. Were I you, I would maintain the status quo.

I know of a certain ZX9 that's done 120,000km plus and it still goes hard. Soundly engineered bikes with regular maintainance will do decently high mileages given the horsepower per litre they put out.
