    Slow drivers

I'm getting really sick and tired of riding/driving down motorways in good weather conditions when the road is in good order with cagers driving 80kmh in front of me. Or being in an 80 zone behind someone doing 65kmh, and these selfish bastards think they own the roads and refuse to let traffic past. If people have an old car that can't reach 100kmh, or towing a trailer, then that's fine if they want to travel at 80kmh as long as they pull over and let people past. I wonder how many crashes can be attributed to people overtaking dangerously because they were fed up with being stuck behind a slow driver. And the cops don't seem to want to target these idiots.

Splitting or filtering at any speed is dangerous enough let alone at 80+ kph

Its not always possible, and depends on situation and experience of the rider to where he is comfortable spliting.

He is also right slow drivers that purposely drive that slow are a hazard.

You need a louder exhaust so they hear you and get out of the way.

It's not that they don't know you're there... The other week I was driving back from Auckland and got stuck behind someone doing about 70 in the 100 zone coming down past the Te Kauwhata turn off. I patiently drove a reasonable distance behind but when we got to the two lane expressway part, he drove right in the middle of the two lanes so I couldn't use either lane to get past I flicked my headlights at him to ask him to choose a lane and he jams on the brakes! Far out! He eventually moved to the left so I drove past with my hand on the horn. The cars behind me saw what happened so did the same
Grrrr... sorry, that was just a vent post

I call these people the Self-Appointed Speed Nazis.

I think their thought process goes like this:

"Tra la la what a lovely day.
I feel that the safest speed on this road is 80km/h.
Road engineers who have decided that the limit should be 100 are clearly homicidal maniacs.
Hmm, a vehicle is approaching me quickly from behind. I wonder if that person is aware of the "safe" limit on this road?
He appears to be in a hurry. That's a sure-fire way to cause an accident on this road.
Well, he wont learn if I just move out of his way. He needs a firm controling hand to guide him to the error of his ways."

What pisses me off is people with 'sportscars' that can't take a corner without braking and then fail to accelerate to 100kmh by the end of an onramp. Just like the poser in the Porsche GT3 that took exception to me passing him on two lane onramp, when i wasn't really making an effort to get to merging speed. He then accelerated up behind me and tailgated me with high beams. Funnily enough his efforst to piss me off just made me laugh which in turn made him more angry. I found it hard to believe that my 1.8L 4speed automatic Volvo S40, out cornered and out accelerated a Porsche GT3. Kinda like having a hot missus and not fucking her.

PAH!!! I call poo on that one... I've had 4 people in the last year pull into my lane when i've been along side them... and the Prila and it's open cans ain't exactly quiet...

Totally agree, I usually give people a break over the weekend as they maybe train it during the week, but during the week it's a different story... and it's usually because the people in the cage are chatting or on phones or eating breakfast or putting on makeup and generally just aren't paying attention to driving...
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

I just drove from the city to Newmarket to Ponsonby back to the city again. In the hour and a half it took me, I managed to add 12 more people to my list of morons that need to die.
