Just got stung for noisy exhaust in my car

$150 fine and no green sticker. If I quieten down the exhaust and prove that it under the legal 95dB limit is there anyway I could be let off the fine?

It's not even that loud though, it's only 108dB. I once got done for no WOF in a mates car and since the car got a new WOF within 28 days of the offence occuring I got let off the fine.
