Jesus wept. The issue isn't palm oil or Cadbury. It's the governments of the countries that allow natural ecosystems to be laid waste to further subsistence agriculture or opportunistic harvesting of hardwoods. A bit like New Zealand did in the 19th century...

Has anybody here bought furniture recently from Early Settler or other similar Malaysian firewood recycling business?

Somebody mentioned palm oil and became morally outraged. Hypocrisy and reason for outrage can be found in virtually any product you may care to mention. I guess facts or perspective should never be allowed to get in the way of a decent rant...

If it's free, then I'm an equal opportunity chocolater. I'm sorry, but Cadbury/Whittaker is the Holden/Ford of the chocolate world. If I'm paying it's either Schoc or Lindt.

Richfields, 70% cocoa with the little blueberry bits in it, FTW

Edit - As a side note, why do people all of a sudden care about the plight of orangutans ? They've been been getting treated like Aborigines and Inuits and native americans for ages, now you care cause your chocolate tastes different..

I prefer the taste of Whittakers.

But I think the Auckland Zoo management is retarded. People aren't farming Palm Oil because they want to harm orangutans, they're farming Palm Oil because they live in tropical shit holes where there's very few ways to scratch out a living.

Being a female of our species chocolate is one of the 3 food groups, chocolate, wine and chocolate so vital to life. Funnily enough I noticed the new packaging today and that it seemed lighter than normal, those sneaky bastads at Cadders have tried to pull the wrappers over our eyes by changing the pack & size and charge the same. I'm with the rangatangs lets boycott Cadders and stick with the Whittakers - tastes better, nicer packaging that looks like old style real chocolate.
