    View Glass repair

    I'm currently cleaning up and rebuilding a master cylinder and calipers on a vt500c Honda Shadow, and I need replace the view glass as the origanal has got a hole in it, i realize that you can't buy new ones but has anyone made one or had anything to do with replacing the view glass without replacing the whole thing help!!!

    glass or you mean plastic screen??
    get a bit polycarbonate and cut to shape ive done a couple
    you can also get tint
    you can get polycarbonate in .5mm to 10mm increments

    plastic fabricator/welder here if you need a hand ! will work for beer/bourbon/booze

    Yes I mean the plastic window, do you know where I can get a bit of polycarbonate? and what did you glue it in with, or was it just pressure fitted?

    My guess is it's glass, with an 'O' ring on top of it, and then the body of the master cylinder swaged over. That will be an interesting repair if you can manage it. Can you post a macro super-close-up photo of it ?

    I silicon resistant to brake fluid? If not, what about E-Pox-E resin?
    ... and that's what I think.
