Must have been a significant penalty as if he had just got put back to second he would have taken the title by 2 points.Originally Posted by Kickaha
Well done Tony Rees I guess. What was good was the fact the racing was close with many good battles going on.
Sweet. Good luck to him.
Thanks for posting that, I'll have to try and watch it![]()
Huh? He has raced at World Superbikes before as well as in 500GP's.Originally Posted by Sparky Bills
Its also a bloody shame that more NZers arent racing there, why no Jared Love and Dean Fulton? Ideal opportunity to try and get on the world stage and theyre just going to let it pass?![]()
Yeah Stoud has done it all before. Peter Clifford rates him when he rode in 500s a few times but he could bring no money with him at the time which you usually need to get into GPs. Rats.Originally Posted by gav
I guess money is the reason Fulton & Love aren't there - I'd like to see Shirrifs and Fitzgerald in the 600SS too, but once again $ I guess.
There are FOUR Kiwis in action this weekend at Phillip Island. #77 Hayden Fitzgerald and #54 Karl Morgan are aboard Suzuki GSX-R600's in the Australian Supersport Championship support class and NZ Superbike Champion #40 Tony Rees is competeing in the Australian Superbike Championship support class aboard his Yamaha YZF-R1.
Andrew Stroud has a confirmed Wild Card Entry into the Big Show. He will carry #93 on his Superbike New Zealand Suzuki GSX-R1000 K5.
Both WSBK races are on SKY SPORT 3 on Sunday. Race 1 @ 13:50 and Race 2 @ 17:20 with highlights later at 21:30.
I hope hayden does well, of all the riders I've seen this season, I reckon he's the most likely to be the next big thing.
WOW, a K5? umm, when did he get that?
Yep I agree - he's moved up another notch; and hopefully will go far. Aaron Slight has given him some coaching recently which helped him - wins at Manfeild and was in the lead several times at Pukekohe were good to see. We need a young fulla to catch up to all these 30 something year olds kicking arse in NZ at the moment!Originally Posted by svs
Pity he's not a wild card in WSS but a competitive bike would probably be more of a problem too I guess.
I lent it to him.Originally Posted by FzerozeroT

jared love told me yesterday that stroud has appealed again.
I'm off to the pub, I may be sometime.
What about all us people who are too busy doing real things in lifeto worry about getting 24hrs of pointless drivel (aka SKY)...is it going to be screened on free-to-air? And when is it?
Nope, never, have to get sky.Originally Posted by wildcat_lgf
Stroud is 20th fastest out of 29 riders in the first free practice; beating among others Ben Bostrom and Fonsi Nieto. Only did a 1.37 though so not sure what the conditions were like. Fastest was Martin's FP1 with a 1.34.8 so sounds like might be a bit cold/windy. 1st qualifying in a couple of hours.
