    Lighting regulations?

What are the legalities involving stuff like this in NZ?
As far as headlights and indicators go anyway.
Am I right in saying that headlights have to have park, high beam, and low beam?
Do they have to be a certain light output?
Is there a minimum distance between indicators?
And do indicators have to be bigger than a certain size?

I did look at the LTSA website but it's confusing as fuck.

Largely, it is a matter of what the WOF inspector will let you get away with. If you are building or modifying something, I'd rock on in there and just ask "is this legal?"

"read what Steve says. He's right."
"What Steve said pretty much summed it up."
"I did axactly as you said and it worked...!!"
    "Wow, Great advise there DB."

The legalities are whatever the bike came with or the regulations at the time....which should be the same thing anyway. If you are doing something different - then it needs to comply with the regulations in force NOW.

Loads of guys have integrated tail/indicator lights, so the answer to your question is that there does not have to be a gap.

The headlamp compliance is also straightforward. It just needs to have dip to left and a mainbeam.
