Yes so long as its the right model from AMB it is fine. I have had mine for 2 years now and works perfect.

    Thumbs up

The 260 model, is recommended for road racing - most motox ones only handle 120kph -it says on amb site . Im looking at 2nd hand ones in uk.

a new rechargeable one is around $680nz at the mowith a direct feed at around $600.

so 2nd hand is more of an option for me.

Yup thats what they say, the others do work but its not worth running the risk for the lap that it doesnt

Feck - is this from AMB ?

I'm sure it was $380 AUS when I last checked - or is this $600NZ at the mo ?

More like $700 for direct wired and $800 for rechargeable. My son just bout one and got charged GST on the import (people forget about this) I bought mine from Ebay in the UK for about $430 second hand a couple of years ago. It's the rechargeable one.

Yep just give Tim the number at least a week before the event and your laps will be recorded good as gold.

I recently bought a new hard wired one from AMB in Aus.
The value plus freight ($17) was A$480 and this resulted in a Goods and Services Tax of $76.50.

PLUS an "Entry Fee" of $25.56 (+GST) !!!

I enquired with customs about the "entry fee" and was told

    Dear Kevin,

    Thank you for your enquiry,

Every commercial import entry and every private entry where the value
of the goods is $1,000 New Zealand dollars or more pays the transaction
    fee .

So if your goods are a private import and under $1,000 you would not pay
the transaction fee .The Customs transaction fee is for the entry and
    Ministry of Agriculture fee .

    Harry Perkins
    for Comptroller of Customs.

I am still trying to get FEDEX to refund the $28.

I have even e-mailed AMB to tell them their freight company are useless.

I'll tell you first hand that the Oz AMB importer is awful to deal with. I got mine from MNZ as I gave up trying to import a lot of them. Chopper's offer is a good one.
