The more news about swine flu, the less there is about the 'recession'. The less news abiout the recession, the better. People forget we're having one and go back to spending a little more...gotta be good for business...and my pocket could do with some relief right now.

Oh well, if we do indeed have swine flu then it is not that terrible, I have some secondary infection that is nailing me flat at the moment, but apart from that I coped
She didn't test me, said theres not much point - I'll be well again before the results would be back. I did get a bloody good telling off for not going in sooner though

Yeah - don't you just love the irony in that...

Got laid out big time by a flu that was probably the piggy variety a couple of weeks back. I spent the first 72 hours in bed taking nonstop Panadeine to kill the headache and joint pains, hot/cold and weak as a kitten.

I am due for sinus surgery in a couple of weeks so guess where the secondary infection turned up? Bugger!
A doctor's visit got me antibiotics for the secondary but even though I was 1 of 5 people waiting in the designated 'flu waiting area' no testing was done to confirm/deny Swine. Two weeks on now and my energy levels are just about back to normal.

Mrs Rat's employer and her hubby came back from QLD with it and every staff member there has had it and been decked for 1 - 2 weeks as a result.

Don't recommend this one if you can avoid it but unless you health is otherwise seriously compromised it's just going to lay you out for a while. It's just flu not bloody Ebola!

My 4yr old got sick with flu and because of the contacts I had at work ment they treated him for swine flu. He was crook as for 48hrs and I was fooking scared shitless...............I watched him breath in and out as he slept.

Didn't give it much thought before this, cant say I'm worried about myself I'm fit and healthy (I think) but when your kids get crook!!!!!!!!!!

Medical professionals have moved from the quarantine/control stage now onto managing and slowing its spread. It is readily accepted that it has now well and truly established itself here.

Yep... had to be worried already. Client got a couple of cases, which meant we limited contact as much as possible, masks etc.

In the contract services industry, you're a great source of spreading anything...

Yes. The same thing last year. I hadn't been to a quack for 6-7yrs(?) until then. Came out of the quack's office after getting forms for a list of tests to be done and spent the next 1/2 day getting stabbed, prodded and siphoned.
I was fucking glad the quack didn't ride a Honda! (ass was beginning to pucker...)

I am not worried for myself just for my children, I suppose reading about otherwise healthy six year old dieing in England doesnt help.

My eight year old had the flu last week, I just kept an eye on her, basically making sure her symptoms didn't develop into vomiting and breathing problems, other than being vigilant about hand washing and disposing of tissues correctly there isnt much more I can do.

My dad had to go to Wellington Hospital this week for a scan, hes a bit paranoid and took handwashing lotion with him, apparently there were people wearing masks there.
