    Yeah. There is also a semi-permanent one-lane section of road controlled by a traffic light just up the road from there.

    Yes to both, lights controlled for those who have patience.
    One lane section unlikely to be fixed and at least one lane bridge.

    take time to go to info board and check out the info there quite interesting as you say, on a good day.

    Always worth a stop there.

    we're in Waiouru on the 3rd July, grandsons march out, if the weather is ok we'll veer off & go pick it up our on our way home, last three trips north took us up the east side, I'll check in here before I head down 54 & make sure no one has picked it up
