    Hello from Scotland (Tiff)

Just joined, after searching for stuff on the RF900.I live on the East coast of Scotland, just north of Edinburgh, and love all bikes (and cars). Toured Europe solo the last few years, and now its what I live for...not too easy with a wife and 3 kids though.

1st one was on an Aprilia Pegaso. popped the head gasket in the middle of Germany, and I spent 3 days with the engine out..

    Engine out after 1600 miles..

next one was all the way to Poland to visit relatives- here I'm crossing into Poland, waited years to do this.

    Brandenburg Gate in Berlin.

    A break from the Autobahn

Now I've rebuilt an RF900 for the next tour.

    As bought.

    Now.

Yeah, its great, but not really my backyard! 20hours on the ferry, then 1200 miles through 5 countries...then 1200 miles back. I'd love to see NZ. I've been told it's like Scotland on steroids...

The RF is a cracking bike, totally under the radar-no one knows about them..until they see that mad taillight dissapearing into the distance

Welcome (a noob here myself too). RF does indeed look sweet. Would love to ride some of the tours you've done.

It would be a heck of a ferry ride for us!

    Hello

    Welcome to KB.

Impressive bike trips. If you love touring the Alps etc in Europe you will love NZ. Slightly different between the North and South Island though.

I would think that the North Island is more like England and the South Island more like Scotland on steriods. But then again as an ex pomme I am not that fond of England and prefer the South Island!

If you ever do get over to NZ I would hit the the South Island first!!!

    Welcome Tiff.

I do like the RF. Well done.

Yep, more Scottish looking folks on South Island than in Scotland.

Great place and well worth a trip.

That is a curious comparison. Can you offer more insight for us kiwis?
