Ask your Dr about Lipidous cream....its only available on prescription but is a fatty based cream. You could also try Eulactol heel balm on the split areas at night

Lucas' Papau ointment, or pawpaw as it is pronounced is a beauty for all cuts dry skin scars scabs etc,

ungvita is also brilliant, not as quick working as papau and also makes you smell like a crooss between a new magazine and a fish :S

Fiber Glass International Trade shops have Nitrile gloves for $12.00/100.

Get Gloves in a Bottle from hardware stores or safety stores. This stuff will protect skin from strong acids.

Go to the chemist and pay 5 times as much

Me and the girls I was on my basic training course with the military used to get the same thing. They gave us blistex lip ointment - the one in the white pot. Worked a treat - cleared all the cracks up over night!!!!

Get to NZ Safety - I think? (bottom of the gorge) They have industrial barrier cream. Stops shit like concrete, oil, grease from getting on ya skin. It's what we use on site.

    Climb On

or something similar. It is a skin repair cream used by rock climbers and is bloody magic. Super Vitamin E plus herbs and crap. Works an absolute treat repairs worn, nicked, broken, cut skin... I can normally climb again the day after a hard climbing session... which is a miracle... I am a wuss

Get it from some climbing gyms etc

Absolutely! I had some Neutrogena hand creme so I used some of that which helped with the initial pain. Then I tried some Palmer's Olive Butter cream, which was also quite good. So gotta go to the chemist today so will ask about some of the creams that you lovely folks have recommended, so will post up how I get on.

I don't think she'd want it in her end if it's dry and painful!!

Well done Col, this was all far too serious. I remember a little song from school days that may help

    "Rich girls they use vaseline,
    poor girls they use lard,
    Dinah uses axel grease
    because her cracks so hard"

    Or something like that
They called it paradise, I don't know why.
Call someplace paradise, kiss it goodbye.

There is a really good handcream that my mother gets from the Paua Shell Factory in Carterton. Not sure of the name of it, but its not expensive and not made of Paua ... but it makes your hands as soft as a babies bottom!
